WALIBI and an incredible weekend

This weekend there was the trip everyone had been waiting for: the YFU-trip to Walibi, Belgium’s well-known amusement park! The entire day was simply said amazing! It was wonderful to be able to laugh along to jokes until my eyes were watering once again, talk so much that my jaw got tired, and gain so many wonderful memories that I can share with awesome people.

Our little group consisted of the Estonian girls, a German, and also my dear host-brother who I’d brought along. We didn’t just spend our time going through the most thrilling rides, but also spent some time “taking it easy” going around a pond in a little boat, talking about everything and nothing. We definitely got to laugh all the time as we enjoyed the peculiar people who we came across, along with the amazing park, which we of course didn’t have time to go through completely. The entire trip went very pleasantly as the rain didn’t decide to disturb us!

My brother and I continued from the amusement park to a birthday party, where the atmosphere was chilled and I once again got to know a bunch of new people! My night, as well as a large part of Sunday, I spent this time in Bastogne, in a house where my host-brother and his dad live now, so like a second (or actually third) home! Indeed, my host-brother does not live with me in the same house, but lives at his own father's place, but I still see him for example at school. Overall the entire weekend has been one of the best so far! Thanks to everyone for that.

Muutenkin pitäisi saada kesäloma suunniteltua, sillä kesäkuu on kohta jo lopuillaan.

Kesä on sujunut älyttömän mukavasti! Naurua, päättömiä juttuja, aurinkoa, sukulaisia, pyöräilyä, rusketuksen toivomista, valvomista, tarinatuokioita, lagittavia leffoja ja ties mitä kaikkea muuta ihanaa <3

houffal

Just when I'm supposed to get some sleep, when it's already 2am and I need to wake up early in the morning. When I don't expect anything, but I check my phone out of habit before I go to bed. On the screen, I noticed an icon for an e-mail, which I don't get very often, so I decided to read it through quickly. The french name of the person who sent the message caught my eye and made my excitement rise up into my throat as I tried to figure out the french contents of the message. A few guesses and ideas came to mind although I tried to hold them back. But there it said it. In clear letters. My hostfamily let me know about their existence for the first time.

In August, I'll be off to a town of 5000 people, Houffalize, which can be found near the Luxembourg border. In this town, you can find a house, in which you can find a family, where I'll have 4 siblings overall, excluding the family's this year's Estonian exchange student, who already contacted me. The family doesn't speak any english, so I'll have to learn to use french, and I'm glad. Through the Estonian exchange student, I managed to ask in english about the country, family and school, that I'll be going to in the nearby city, Bastogne.

Excitement has now finally appeared properly, when everything has gotten more concrete. Fear seemed to show it's true nature: enthusiasm, happiness, impatience. My fingers have slid across the keyboard googling anything and everything. Maybe I'd soon be interested in going through all those YFU papers as well... Anyway, I should plan my summer, since June is almost over.

My summer has been great so far! Laughter, ridiculous stories, sun, relatives, biking, hoping for a tan, staying up, storytimes, lagging movies, and all sorts of other lovely stuff <3
